点评：This was my second visit to Ma Fischer’s in Milwaukee, and I’m really glad I gave it another shot. My first time here I tried the hot turkey and left unimpressed, but this visit was a totally different experience.
We were seated right away, and just like before, the service was quick and super friendly. The place has a warm, classic diner feel — think cozy booths, checkerboard tile floors, and a long counter with swivel stools. The exposed brick and old-school touches in the kitchen pass-through give it a nostalgic charm, but everything is also clean and well-kept. It’s got that "neighborhood favorite" vibe where you can tell regulars feel right at home.
I ordered the French dip with fries and a cup of chicken & dumpling soup. The soup came out fast, and honestly, it was the star of the meal. The broth had great depth of flavor, and the dumplings were soft and satisfying. My sandwich and fries followed shortly after and were both solid — the fries especially were crisp and seasoned just right.
This visit completely turned my opinion around. Between the cozy atmosphere, better food, and great service, I’ll absolutely be back.
