点评：This very tiny ice cream parlor (no indoor seating) on the main street in Shepherdstown (a wonderful and walk-friendly college town on the Potomac), is just marvelous. I will no longer buy ice cream from a supermarket or chain ever again if this store is open. The flavors are just fantastic - the vanilla is very good, but I'm very partial to the salted caramel. I'm not a chocolate ice cream fan, but members of my family are, and they sing its praises as loudly as I do for my favorite flavors. The pleasant and very friendly owner of the shop makes the ice cream herself, and often is there to serve it, giving bountiful portions: don't skimp - the waffle cone is worth it, and stops a drippy problems in summer heat. This is the perfect stop after a walk or ride on the C&O across the river (if you rent, Peddle and Paddle is next door to the store), and a great bookstore is across the street. Best time to enjoy: cool sunsets in the fall when the starlings come home to the town and put a show on overhead, as you walk or sit and enjoy the environment. But any evening is a treat - the town is totally walkable and pleasant. When we have visitors, we take them here for desert after dinner. Yes, there's often a line - it's that good - but so what? You get so much more in addition to exceptional ice cream. Patience. Not everything worth having has to happen right now.
