点评：Beaus has a convenient location downtown Cle Elum with ample parking. Decorations are very suitable for a casual lunch or dinner. Many people have reservations but we were immediately seated despite arriving at 5pm on a Saturday. You can be seated by a window. Service is fine. Up to that point everything looks very promising. Then comes the food…
We had spaghetti and meatballs and a margherita pizza with garden and Caesar salads. Garden salad was decent, the ceasar was very good (you have to ask for anchovies, and they only come very salty from a can; nonetheless we were surprised they actually had anchovies).
Their margherita pizza was not good, plain and simple. No red sauce, the balsamic reduction is drowning everything else and is caramelized on the dough. It has an awkward “sweetish” strawberry flavor which does not go well with the rest. It was difficult to tell whether the mozzarella was fresh or from a bag. The pizza dough was chewy, sweetish and raw dough like, more of a roll dough than your typical Italian pizza dough. We would call this pizza “caprese” not margherita. This pizza was just not good.
Spaghetti was swimming in red tinged water. Meatballs were falling apart a bit and vaguely undistinguished. The whole dish was a bit bland.
Maybe we will be more in luck next time. We still enjoyed our time, though the prices charged did not support the culinary experience.
