点评:Most of the trail is Awesome!!!
But......there's a dark side. Vagrants have ruined parts of the trail. Although the section off of the Yew street "stairway" has been cleared for the moment, the section of the "Whatcom creek trail" from Woburn to Meador Street has once again been taken over by thieves and vagrants that have cut down hordes of trees, cut trails, dug holes, left tons of garbage and taken away any real safe feeling anyone that uses the trail away. Although there was another recent attempt to clean it up, that have already moved back in. See attached pictures.
The good news was the recent storms washed away a bunch of the camps, however, the trash was strewn down the creek and since then is still pretty messed up and going to be hard to clean and haul out.
The storms did significant damage to the banks of the creek (seen in some of the pictures) after whomever is responsible for the upstream creek dam left it wide open so Whatcom lake residents lawns wouldn't get wet....but that's another story.
There could be an upside if the place can remain cleared, families could use the stripped areas for beach blankets come summer.
