点评:What a marvelous institution. A blessing to the residents of Winchester as well as tourists. Although there is a museum building, the whole she-bang is more like a "campus". There's acreage with trees, flower gardens and a vegetable garden. Plenty of benches and other outdoor seating to take in the views. On display throughout the gardens are glass sculptures by Craig Mitchell Smith. The museum has a comparable art exhibit each year; last year Legos sculptures of endangered species were on view. The historic Glen Burnie house dates from 1736, with frequent updates over its years. A scale model takes up a large room on the first floor. Visitors can "look inside" at the furnishings in each of the rooms. A bamboo maze is a"maze"ing. Two permanent outdoor sculptures of note are an empty silo with a mobile inside and a sculpture with kaleidoscopes. I've visited twice on this trip and haven't seen the actual museum yet.
