点评:I had been to Jade Villa when I first moved to the area over ten years ago and found the Cantonese dim sum to be very authentic. However haven't been back since I live in Williamsburg and it's a pain to go through the tunnel. The Checkered Flag Audi dealership moved to Virginia Beach Boulevard about a mile from Jade Villa so after getting my car serviced, I stopped in for some dim sum. I will be honest, the place is a bit dingy and grimy. At least the bathroom is not the worst bathroom I've been to at a restaurant. They do cart service on the weekends but during the week, you can order off the dim sum menu, just not the items that are listed in red: rice crepes, baked roast port buns, egg custard tarts, pineapple buns. I was hoping to get shrimp rice crepes but only available on Sat/Sun. I was able to order har gow(translucent shrimp dumplings), sticky rice in lotus leaves, turnip cake, and deep fried salted meat dumpling(in Cantonese - Ham Sui Gok which is a fried rice dough dumpling w/ pork & shrimp filling). Service was good & prompt. Each dim sum came out separately since each required different preparations. The turnip cake was first. It was a bit greasy(it's panfried) - it wasn't fried enough for me so I just ate one and decided to bring the other two pieces home where I will pan fried it again to be crispier on the outside. The har gow were filled with shrimp - the dumpling skin was thin - it was pretty good. The Ham Sui Gok were nicely deep fried and the exterior was good however there was hardly any filling. The stand out was the sticky rice in lotus leaves - nice sized portion for $6.50, chicken and Chinese sausage, nicely seasoned, not too salty. I found it very close to what my mother use to make for Dragon Boat festival which is usually celebrated in June, so I ordered another one, unheated, to take home for dinner. For a Tuesday, the restaurant was fairly quiet for lunch; on the weekends, it is always packed. The other food brought out to other customers looked like very traditional authentic Cantonese cuisine that you would find in New York, San Francisco, Washington DC, etc. Other than Full Kee in Richmond or Guangdong Taste(which I haven't tried yet), this is about as close you are going to get for true Cantonese cooking.
