Fun, great appetizer, service needs considerable improvement

点评：Went here with husband on a very hot weekday. Please be aware that all weather, temperature controlled bays does not in any way mean a.c. I questioned this before going and they clarified, it was indeed just fans. We went anyway on a super hot day (only day we had the opportunity to go) but knew what to expect and didn't stay long due to heat.
First impressions are so important with customer service and really do set the stage. At the check in counter, our customer service agent was a young girl with braids who was pretty disinterested in her job, not at all friendly and had a bit of an attitude. This was our first time here so not a favorable intro.
It wasn't very busy and there was no wait to get a bay. We chose the second floor though the girl at the desk didn't offer much help with where we should pick. Also, as a side note there were no paper towels left in women's bathroom. We went to our bay and were fortunately greeted by a friendlier person, (name I think was Emmit??) who made polite conversation at first but was about to dash off before explaining things to us. My husband had to ask a few key things that likely should have been told to us especially as first timers. He said he already told us, but he hadn't. In all fairness hot=cranky and the sign on screen kept messing up which was a bit frustrating for us all, including him. It took 5 mins just to get past it and he had to find a way to get through it so we could get to our game. He was still pleasant but seemed to want to get us on the clock fast, yet still much nicer than counter girl. Between the heat and too quick explanation, we repeatedly ended up hitting balls under the opposite person's name, wondering why that was happening even though we hit our own name before a play. It was miserable hot out and the game was fun so we let our normal competitive spirits go and just had fun with it. It was my husband's bday so I let him hit them for both of us in the last 20 minutes of our hour. I've never done beyond putt putt so I was just tickled each time I hit a target, which was actually quite a bit. :)
Drink/Food: Again, non-busy time and day. As hot as it was (heat index around 105), they probably should have had pitchers of water on tables. We ordered a water and a coke, along with mac and cheese bites appetizer/snack. We got our food before our very simple drinks. In fact, our drinks did not arrive until 10+ minutes after our food. That is a big, NO at any food serving establishment. I typically will not eat until after I get a drink in the rare times that happens. That was a big negative for me. Fortunately, the food stayed hot. I also found it odd that they are serving food in an eat while you play place, say the equipment is sanitized, but have no sanitizer or hand washing station nearby while we are repeatedly touching and picking up random golf balls through a chute. I was too hot to try to dig mine out, but I would rec they have some basic hand sanitizers at each area. Aside from that, the seating areas themselves are neat and quite inviting looking. I rarely do fried food but the friend mac and cheese bites were wonderful! It was the best food I ended up having all day, including our dinner later. Very yum! Husband loved them too.
Waitress switched over to a new waitress towards the end of our visit. They were pleasant about it, but my husband found that odd and thought it should be one finishing out her tables like most places do. I scratched out my original tip as they were basing it off the golf game, the one time membership fees (lame), and the food. I decided to go by food tab instead. Look out for this if it is a concern. If I had stellar service from the counter to the end point, I might have actually tipped for more than food, but that wasn't the case.
Overall, we'd return, but would expect a much more pleasant greeting and certainly, drinks before food. In spite of the intro and the heat, it was fun, my husband enjoyed himself on his special day and I got a kick out of repeatedly hitting target areas on my first time beyond putt putt. I wouldn't trade it for putt putt type golf, but it has the potential to be a very cool group activity and couple's date. I wouldn't really advise it for young kids though. Hopefully our next visit will be improved if we get out there again.
