点评:While on a recent road trip, we thought a good Cracker Barrel dinner would be just the thing after a long day of driving. We ordered standard, always-available fare for take out -- we've learned not to order meals that are cooked after ordering when we want fast service.
Then the wait began. We waited, and we waited, and we waited. We weren't the only ones waiting for takeout.
In the meantime, the dining room (which had plenty of empty tables) was not busy enough to keep the waitstaff busy. Three of them were hanging out at the hostess station -- one even declaring that she was bored.
So why were the take-out guests waiting so long? The manager seemed busy but evidently thought that one employee was enough to take care of all of the takeout orders. The takeout staffer was running herself ragged. We found ourselves wondering why some of the bored employees were not temporarily assigned to help their overworked coworker.
Food was good, but poor management and poor team spirit among the employees needs to be addressed. We stayed at the same nearby hotel on our way back home, but we avoided this Cracker Barrel.
