点评:Deia is one of the most beautiful villages in the Tramuntana, very much worth a stroll through its narrow alleys. For somebody with a literary interest there is a sight outside the village, on the road to Sollér. There are signs with 'La Casa de Robert Graves' and for me this name is mainly associated with a book that I had by him on my bookshelves already as a teenager: 'Greek Myths'.
When I arrived at the house nobody was there, even during regular opening hours, so I had to ring a bell. A friendly guardian came, sold me the entrance ticket and when I left he came to give me some tangerines from the garden. When there in mid-December I was alone during my whole visit.
In an auditorium there is a 15min long video about the poet and on the wall a time-line of his life and some old black and white photos. The stone house itself looks as if the owner had just left for a stroll. One can see several personal items in his study, his dining hall, kitchen, bedroom. All furniture is apparently original. There is a printing press and in the garden a wheel water pump and an electric generator.
