Mission BBQ的点评
点评：First time to try this chain. Very few BBQ chains actually have great BBQ. I had heard this was good.
So my experience here revealed it’s not very good.
I ordered a brisket sandwich. And upgraded to a side of fries and drink.over twenty dollars with taxes. The prices are high.
You go to a toolbox to get things you need. A drawer was out, I thought intentionally so, which I later learned hid labels of stuff I wanted. Like a straw. Salt. Pepper. Very gimmicky but not a good way to provide dining accessories. And they are too cheap to put ketchup and salt on a table? For twenty dollars?
The brisket comes in a bun. Nothing else. They have sauces at the table. I tried a taste of everyone of them. None really had a strong appeal. And I love BBQ. I settled on the Memphis style, that really isn’t a Memphis style. It was mediocre but better than the others. The sauces are thin. Too liquid. Probably to save money. But not to serve good BBQ.
The fries were warm. Not hot. Not exactly fresh. But are good. Not outstanding.
The brisket has that a slight smoke to it. Not a good long aged smoke. Lacks depth and character.
The biggest fail was they do not trim their brisket. I’ve never been to a BBQ place that didn’t. Maybe they don’t know how, or, again, leave the fat in it to give a facade of a volume of meat. So I had to trim it myself. Every piece. Probably had 1/3 of a pound or more of fat.
So if you like brisket fat with a fair smoke job of it. You might like this place.
They failed their mission. To provide good BBQ.
I will not be back.
