点评：We love to find local gems. This is NOT one of them. It's local enough, but if you are a visitor, try someplace else.
We approached the counter while the owner ignored us to chat with an employee. We looked at each other to see if we were invisible.
Then, another customer approached the counter and was promptly greeted and asked for an order. Again, we checked to see if we were invisible.
Eventually, in a deadpan stare, we were asked what we wanted. No greeting, no welcome, no smile.
We noted that if we paid by credit card, we'd be charged an extra 3%. That is an ordinary cost of doing business, not a penalty for using a credit card. As a business owner, I know this. Why do they want cash only? It's highly suspicious.
Our meals arrived and we found the fries to be perfect. On the other hand, we were continually distracted by the flies that were unchecked.
We both got soft drinks. I observed that the spout with the ice on the soft drink machine appeared to have mold growing on it! If it wasn't mold, it was still filthy.
I had a fish sandwich. Fact: fish is not supposed to crunch. Mine did. It was way overdone and a greasy lump. It also tasted a bit "iffy." Later, I enjoyed an increasingly upset stomach, making me feel that I was going to vomit. Was it the fish or the filth? I didn't know. Later that evening, I had a bout of diarrhea. Was it the fish or the filth? I can't say.
This is a great place to avoid. We will certainly do so if we ever find ourselves looking for a bite to eat in Spanish Fork.
