Killen's Texas Barbecue的点评
点评：I visited Killen’s the first week they opened and have been a loyal and regular customer since.
However, when visiting Killen’s today, I had a very bad experience .
They were hosting some kind of picnic outside, but the dining room was closed and only takeout orders were available.
I waited in line for 30 minutes to order takeout because of a wifi problem . The order takers didn’t seem to know what they were doing. There were about 25-30 people in line for takeout but several just gave up and left.
I believe that Killen’s has the best smoked brisket in the Houston area. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would usually give Killen’s a 10, today i’d probably give them a 5. So disappointing.
My brisket was some of the worst brisket I have ever eaten, consisting mostly of fat. It wasn’t trimmed at all. I ordered lean. It’s really a shame, since prices are up, a brisket plate and canned Coke was $24 . Apparently the drink machine was not working either and the only choice were canned drinks. They even bumped up regular drink prices to give us a canned drink for $3.
I understand hosting a picnic outside but why did the dining room have to be closed for a group eating outside?
With the food and service this bad, they probably should have just completely closed for the day.
Again- so disappointing …….
