点评:I’d heard about The Republic for years and years, and visited its sister restaurant Primrose Path earlier this year (they share a kitchen). My parents and I finally visited The Republic for a joint birthday celebration, and we were all very pleased.
We took our time ordering courses and never felt rushed. Our server was very good, and the ambiance was of a classic steakhouse that aren’t so easy to find anymore. I had the filet mignon which was very nicely prepared, although I do think the foie gras butter add-on I chose was overpriced and unnecessary (my mistake though!). The family-style shareable sides were all very tasty. My parents were very pleased with their steaks too. The desserts, unfortunately, fell prey to the classic “upscale” restaurant trap of not being very sweet or flavorful in an attempt to be somehow classier. They were fine but not my favorite.
Overall though, I would definitely return for a special occasion. Like almost all restaurants at any level these days, I did find it overpriced, but the quality was still there unlike so many other places you might try.
