点评：What an incredible concept... you can lie here watching the night sky! As Lake Tyrrell is located away from town, it would be quiet and a wonderful place to reflect. There is a nearby formalised carpark, which this deck is close to... Only 2-3 minutes walk.
There is information on the side of the sky lounge that welcomes you to 'Direl' ... the aboriginal word for Lake Tyrrell. It is the home of the Boorong people. The aboriginal clans in the region all travelled to the lake for ceremony and trade. It is their biggest ceremonial ground in the area.
Direl is sacred ... it is a place where there night sky reflects in the lake, joining them as one with everything in their world. These people were astronomers long before telescopes were invented, they studied the stars and knew them as part of their Creation and Dreamtime stories.
You can read about the names they knew planets by at the site. This site is something special and it's an incredible idea to have the lounge there. My camera on my phone would not do justice to the event of the sky being reflected on the lake at night, so hopefully someone will share a photo on TripAdvisor for others to understand how beautiful this concept really is.
