点评:I am curious that so many bad reviews are on this... particularly one gentleman who has returned to the reserve expecting something different on his return-- If he didn't see what makes this place interesting the first time, I doubt he will on the second.
The reserve is a few kilometres out of town... it will take about five minutes by car. When you arrive there is a carparking area, but it is not formalised... and not warranted as it's not a busy place.
Immediately stepping into the reserve you are greeted with bird song and the rustling sounds in the bushes indicated birds, lizards or snakes appreciate this and have made the area home. The bird song is particularly charming. It's very serene to walk through the reserve and you will get to a lookout that is the Riverland lookout... not the red cliffs exactly because you are literally on top of those. But if you follow the area to your far right ( standing in the carpark, looking towards the lookout) you will get to the area that shows you the red cliffs.
The cliffs and reserve evolve as with many natural reserves making a fence appropriate so that visitors do not risk themselves taking photos over the edge of the cliff.
It was so peaceful to walk through the area... it was quite cool when I was there but I imagine in the hotter months aeroguard would be necessary to steer the flies away ... or mosquitoes at night.
