Korumburra Cemetery的点评
点评：Korumburra Cemetery is stunningly beautiful with farmland as far as you can see ... standing here was utterly serene. The cemetery is exceptionally maintained with toilets... which is very convenient when you are visiting the cemetery.
Located on the fringes of town, it will not take you more than a few minutes to drive there. My daughter wasn't feeling well, so I had left her in the motel room resting (at her request) and gone for a drive to the cemetery. I was here late afternoon and sun was teasing at the edge of the clouds making for the most beautiful backdrop as I wandered along reading headstones.
As I walked I noticed a lot of headstones in different languages -possibly immigrants so far from home. Sometimes they had photographs on their headstones which feels very personal like you are visiting someone.
There were a few crosses in the bushes as you went along the driveway inside... the two crosses were for the Rainbow family. One was for Ada Isabel Rainbow who in 1894 died at the age of 8 months. She was the daughter of Matilda and Henry Rainbow. Metres away there is another cross for a Still Born Son- same parents ... this time the date was 22-8-1903.
Towards the end of my visit there was a group of three walking around the cemetery... clearly locals because they walked from one headstone to another sharing the stories of those who had passed.
