点评：This restaurant was recommended to us by our host whilst staying in nearby Newland in the Forest of Dean at Easter. We booked on-line (easy process).
As we approached the restaurant we were delighted to see that Church Street was lit with festive lights (no it wasn't Xmas we visited at Easter!) which made for very pleasant start to the evening. The restaurant itself was also twinkling with decorative lights - again very pleasant.
We were given a very warm welcome by the host and shown to our table. Menu's were produced and drinks order taken in short order.
The regular menu is varied with specials on the blackboard - so good choice of meals.
Our food was extremely well presented and was very tasty. My wife had fish and I had beef bourguignon - both were excellent
The restaurant had a very relaxed atmosphere despite being busy. The host was attentive but helpful.
Do book ahead - several people were turned away whilst we were there.
Also please note that they closed the door to new diners at 8pm when we visited.
