Mario's Pizzeria的点评
点评：Mario’s came highly recommended to me by my best friend. Last weekend we were out celebrating his birthday and I suggested dinner at Mario’s on his previous recommendation. I had been wanting to check it out since he first told me about it. I am a huge pizza guy. I’ve had pizza from coast to coast and border to border in this great country. Quite frankly, pizza could be my whole way of life if not for my wife! We drove to the Edgefield town square, which is very cool! Imagine going to a place where everyone gathers for fun, and that is the town square in Edgefield, SC. As we walked into Mario’s Pizza, it was almost like walking into a NY eatery. The atmosphere is so welcoming, comfortable and just puts you at ease.
Our party was greeted and seated quickly. Drink orders were taken and after drinks arrived, appetizers and entrees were ordered. We had arrived very early for dinner and so the restaurant was sparsely populated. That changed fast! It was not long before musician Tim Barnett arrived and began to set up. The garlic knots and the stuffed mushrooms were delicious starters. When the pizza came I was a bit skeptical, the crust seemed to have a different texture than I am used to. To my surprise the crust had great texture and taste all the way through each bite. Sauce was just right, not overpowering, not too sweet or bitter. We ordered the “Meathead” and the “Dragged Through The Garden” (vegetarian) pizzas. Wow, the flavors were spot on, portioned well with toppings and overall just great pizza! Great food, great service, great atmosphere and music was great as well; it added to our dining experience.
Overall I’m thankful for the introduction to this little hole in the wall in Edgefield, SC. It will definitely become part of our future dining repertoire.
