Richland Library North Main的点评
点评：The RCPL - North Main Branch was recently renovated, and the new facility is a vast improvement over the previous incarnation. There are two computer areas - one for children and one for adults. There are two large meeting rooms, one medium sized room, and several smaller rooms that allow for conferences or private study. As befits a smaller branch, the holdings are not extensive, but the the library is part of the RCPL system and has access to the complete library collection via inter-branch holds. The staff is generally friendly and helpful, and I find that a male named Chris and a female named Stephanie to be superlative employees who are invariably congenial and helpful. On the downside, the library plays a constant drone of soft jazz music that is distracting and unnecessary. It is also one of the noisiest libraries I have ever visited. Rules regarding noise are inconsistently enforced, with people having conversations both in person and on the phone that often go unaddressed by the library staff and security personnel. Likewise, since there are medium and large sized meeting rooms (one of which is open to the rest of the interior of the building) that host a variety of different type of events, including disco parties, the noise often spills over from these occasions. Due to the small size of the facility, not including tables in the meeting rooms, there are only two tables and one extended bar-like counter top that offer space to plug in individual electronic devices, and the two tables are somewhat cramped between the library's shelves. Lastly, the toilet in the men's room has an electronic eye, but it does not flush automatically. You do the math on that one. Overall, I would not discourage anyone from visiting this library, but be prepared for its drawbacks as well as its positives.
