点评:We’ve dined here (and the adjacent pub) multiple times in the past with friends and always enjoyed the fare and ambiance. This time it was so subpar that we won’t return.
First off, the hostess wasn’t friendly at all so much so that we felt like an inconvenience. Our waitress initially seemed pleasant and present, but she essentially was MIA through our meal.
Case in point, two of us ordered the tomato bisque. It had tremendous flavor yet was barely lukewarm. Had we seen our server, we would have asked if they could have warmed it up for us but … she wasn’t around.
In fact, when our meals came out from the kitchen - two kitchen team members brought out the plates, while we lifted our bowls out of the way so they could set the meals down. The server finally arrived to take the bowls from our hands. I proceeded to tell the one kitchen person about the barely lukewarm soup so they would know to correct it for others and they completely dismissed me and the waitress made these big eyes like I called their baby ugly. I wasn’t looking for anything free but figured they would want to know to check the temperature.
Now for the main course: my beet and burrata salad had no dressing on it. Thankfully my husband had a side salad and gave me some of his balsamic dressing to use. Because you guessed it - the server didn’t come around to ask how everything was.
My husband was happy with his chicken and leek pie. But the other couple, though they ate their meals (crab cake sandwich and hot turkey sandwich) said they’d never get them again. They were just ok.
Finally, my husband’s old fashioned was all ice and only 4-5 small sips. It was the most pathetic pour he’s experienced.
Ultimately we left our most pathetic (and embarrassing) tip ever (barely 10%) because we felt we had to reflect the level of service. Since our words were ignored - that was our only recourse.
