Nyngan RSL Civic Club的点评
点评：We are husband/wife serving veterans with 53 years military service with operational service and 11 medals between us. We arrived at this RSL after a long day of travelling from Canberra. We attended an ANZAC March and ceremony in Boorowa in the morning where we were made most welcome by the hundreds of locals, even invited to have lunch with them which we declined.
We arrived at Nyngan RSL for an evening meal and, as we have always done offered to show ID/ veterans cards whereupon we have ALWAYS been given the non member discount and sometimes even a free meal.. This discount was asked for at this RSL and was flatly refused with the attendant saying ‘ no love we don’t do that here’. We are talking about a $2 good will discount per person here, nothing more. As I was very tired after a 700km I became a tad upset and reminded her that everyone in the jam packed club at that moment had supposedly had the day off to remember and reflect what not only the ANZACS endured 108 years ago but also what other servicemen/ women also have and are currently have enduring for this great country .
LEST WE FORGET had no meaning whatsoever to this club. It is purely a profit making club (unlike any other other we’ve visited around Australia) that does not understand or care to understand what the flag pole outside their door represents. Will never dine there again.
On a positive note the meal albeit taking an hour was hot, plentiful and tasty.
