点评:Review from more of a spectators point of view, than a participant. Visited with two young participants, three other spectators and an under 10 week old in a pram.
When flip out announced they were coming to Hounslow I was actually really pleased as I loved trampolining as a child. This flip out though unlike others has no trampolines. :-(
Arcade on entry, able to access without paying to get into the main area but all added extra cost on top of your ticket if paying to get in - all seemed to be £1 a okay. As entry slots are timed and they advise getting there half an hour before I would imagine a lot of parents end up paying extra for the arcade whilst waiting. There’s not actually anything to really turn up early for, just pay and wait for the hours slot to begin.
Visiting with a pram, accessibility was important. Sadly we couldn’t take the pram up to the upper floors as the lift was broken, no spectating for our baby! One of our group remained in the cafe with baby whilst others enjoyed watching the children upstairs, fine for us but if had been a single parent would have caused issues.
Fixed tables but movable chairs in the ground floor cafe. No arms on the chairs. Three high chairs were available when we visited. There were around 4 double plug sockets with 2 usbs on each but these were at bar style tables around the edge of the room. You’d need to be able to get up on a high bar stool type chair to use them.
As a spectator you were given your £2.50 entry fee as £2.50 off in the cafe but not the costa machine. So would buy you a cuppa tea or a soft drink but no coffee.
About 8 flavours of slush puppy (called ‘polar crush’) but this is sugar free slush puppy. Didn’t seem to be noticed by anyone in our group though! Unlimited slush for £5.00.
Lots of food based extras to buy, brightly coloured sweets (pick and mix) machine and candy floss. £3.50 for both paid via cash or card though the candy floss did say it was a promotional price. The candy floss machine was pretty entertaining to watch it being made and it was quite large!
Other food and drinks reasonably priced, menu and prices as of July 2023 in photos. Free sauces and a good selection!!
Some tables and chairs in the upstairs area where you can see your children play. No arms on these chairs, great for larger sizes, not helpful for those with difficulties getting up. No criticism just trying to help out those reading reviews who might have needs.
If waiting in the cafe with a baby make sure your pram has a hood. The cafe area is dark with beautiful fairy lights which our baby loved looking at but the bright spotlights dotted around made her cry, good pram angling to not get them in her eyes was needed!
Toilets ok, I did walk into one cubicle then into another as the door felt stiff and the lock didn’t seem to work. It might just have been a little awkward as the second one kicked after a bit of twiddling it. Nice touch of a step to allow kids to access the sinks.
Baby changing in the disabled toilet. Appreciated so parents can sort baby and themselves without worry of leaving baby outside stalls or trying to negotiate taking baby in with them!
Lockers you pay extra for, photo attached to review. £2.00 for 2 hours, £4.00 for 4 hours.
Accessibility isn’t great, lots of stairs. Stairs to main play area then more stairs to the dodgems. But there is a lift to all parts, though not working on our visit.
As a larger person I always look at the size of things. I’m not particularly interested in taking part nowadays but others may be interested. No size related information on website. I’ve added some closer up photos of the dodgems to hopefully help others decide if the size is suitable before committing to taking part. A few details and the seat belt length available on the website would help make this more inclusive and size friendly. They looked pretty big, I’d say a woman’s size 20 wouldn’t have any issues but larger may struggle. The sides of the ‘cars’ is hard plastic so no give or wiggle room!
Kids definitely seemed to enjoy the bumper cars, we went at a fairly quiet time (morning) and there was very little queuing for them. At busier times I’d imagine some of the session time would be taken up waiting. Sessions then last 5 minutes each. Not very fast for older children, no huge bumps but ok for under 13’s ish. Not quite sure how there ‘under 1.1m has to be accompanied by adult’ works, I can’t see two fitting in the cars, so under 1.1 I’m guessing you’ve got to buy an adult ticket to take part? (They’ve got a measuring stick ready to check this!!)
Lazer quest area isn’t huge and again at busier times I’d imagine there would be waiting time. More players though would make it better, a child by themselves is reliant on some other kids bring about to play with them. Again as a larger person a quick mention of the ‘harness’ sizes would be useful. From what I saw they seemed to go up pretty large, largest we used though was on a skinny 13 ish year old so not helpful, sorry!! Lazer quest is kind of split into two areas with a slope between them, tight corners so though a slope a wheelchair user may struggle to take part. Scores displayed for all to see outside the game area, good to know if you’ve got a particularly sensitive child who struggles with competition. Games last 8 minutes.
Apparently running and not being on your feet isn’t allowed… I kind of thought this was the whole point of the game?
Small baby soft play. In my view not worth paying the full child admission of all they can use is the baby bit however they did have some just stay and play type days/times on their website which would make this better priced. I’ve taken photos of this as non on website.
I’ve not seen it enforced but one of their rules is no glasses without a retainer and shatter proof lenses. As a lifetime glasses wearer I can guarantee it’d be incredibly unsafe if I tried taking part in anything without glasses. I highly doubt a lot of parents bring a ‘retainer’ and know if the lenses are shatterproof. I get the theory, but removal of glasses for many is more unsafe and as a child I’d not have been able to take part due to not being able to see.
Photos added of bits mentioned on review, hope to help someone!
