点评:I’ve been recommended Kismet. I’m an infrequent visitor to Stockport, and have tried out quite a few Indian restaurants in the centre, so a trip a bit further out was interesting.
The restaurant itself was nicely decorated, and service was attentive and good. The menu was the typical extensive version. In the end I went for Ginger Lamb with a side of Saag Bhaji and Chapatis, with a pickle tray to start. All were good - interesting mix of pickles, plenty of succulent meat, and a good saag.
My only remark would be that to turn it into ‘Ginger’, prices of sliced ginger were added to a generic sauce. This is absolutely standard practice, but the ginger was still quite raw. I’d rather that restaurants take a little longer to specially cook a smaller range of dishes, but completely understand the market they work with.
In summary, one of the better restaurants I’ve been in. Good food, service and atmosphere, and definitely worth the visit. £25, including a beer, so good value too. Just stick to the more standard dishes for a great meal.
