A hidden gem tucked 17 miles northeast of Route 309 in the farmlands.
So, we made a reservation and opted for second seating on Sunday.
A well deserved shout out to the serving staff that hustled throughout our time there. Our primary server, Jenny, accompanied by Dee along with Kai, all contributed to a wonderful and timely service.
My first course, bits of smoked duck breast over potato pancakes was underwhelming and non descript, crème fraiche.
My second course was the three meat Wellington bacon, ham and sausage encrusted in delicate crust. Tender and delicious. Accompanied by mixed greens and sautéed potato quarters, rough cut red bell peppers and onions. Freshly made.
Third course ordered the chocolate mousse topped with fresh berries and whipped crème. Deep rich flavors.
My wife ordered her first course of the Tempura mini lobster tails accompanied by spicy dipping sauce. Very good.
Her second course of filet ( ordered Medium) and crab Benedict accompanied by mixed green and same potato, pepper, onion mix.
The filet arrived Well done and only one bite later, she asked me for a transfer of goods as I love well done meat. No problem. She also mentioned filet wasn’t cooked to order and probably cooked to a less degree and reheated to preference. The Hollandaise sauce was very rich and over powered all the delicate bits of crab that topped the filet. (Sauce on side next time) Upcharge of $10 for Benedict.
In closing, the farmhouse dining room atmosphere reminds us of eating in our childhood homes.
