Possibly the best kept sporting and picnic secret in Bucks County

点评：For years we heard you could watch polo in Tinicum Park on Saturday afternoons during the summer. For the past two weekends we have been there. We had a great time. The polo club seeks to be the most friendly and welcoming club. The gate opens at 1:00 PM. People arrive and are charged $20.00 per car. They can either tailgate and picnic during the match or sit in the community tent by the announcer’s box. The field is nine acres in size, bordered by tailgaters on one side and about 50 matching popup tents on the other. Those matching white tents are for social members who get a tent for the 22 game season.
We brought our picnic and were impressed by the friendliness of the people around us. They are very welcoming. When you arrive, you are given a magazine including the rules of polo and the schedule for the season.
This is a great opportunity to picnic in an ideal setting, watch magnificent riders and horses in serious competition and enjoy a welcoming, friendly atmosphere.
Are there negatives? Tinicum Park is located along River Road in Bucks County, PA. Going up the New Jersey side and crossing over the Frenchtown bridge is the better route because a section of River Road on the PA side is closed, probably for construction. Otherwise, this is an undiscovered gem.
