点评：Road warrior here. I travel for work, in excess of 40 trips per year. I am not picky, I am not fishing for or a free meal and I have been in many, many humble mom and pops places.
Unfortunately, this is one of the few places that I would NOT recommend, at All.
Asked for wine and the special of the day, a NY steak. I asked for a medium cooked steak.
The wine glass was filthy. Look, is okay they use Dollar-store wine glasses, but they should be clean and polished, this one was neither.
They took their sweet time to bring the food, its okay, I am not picky really... but the salad had an onion that was cut maybe few days ago, you can tell that it was not juicy, it was not firm.... strike two
Then I received the steak... oh my God, they need help in that kitchen. The medium steak I requested was DRY, HARD and totally overcooked, for a moment I thought this must to be a joke, or a candid camera prank.
I asked for a manager and my server came to hear me, if she was the manager well... they are in trouble. She admitted the gross wine glass was her fault. OMG the glass was poorly washed yes, but it had several greasy ginger prints, if she was the culprit oh boy she really needs to wash her hands, No really, I am not picky I actually cleaned the rim and say, okay, I will let this one go. She saw me cleaning the glass rim and she didn't care.. she kept going like nothing was happening.
When I reported the hard as-a-shoe-sole steak I asked to have my drink swapped by a sealed drink, an unopened diet coke or something.... she refused arguing that they don't have any drinks that have not been opened.... WOW! That was it. I was willing to eat their dry steak and drink wine in a glass that I had to clean myself, but when she refused to provide an unopened drink... that was it, strike four.
I like Hermiston and I have received nothing but great service elsewhere,but Hale's need to pay attention to these details.
