点评:We checked in to Fields Station a little after 4 pm one week ago. We had a room reservation and were expecting to eat at the restaurant. After the woman in charge took my credit card and ran it for $100 I asked about eating. The response was No - that I had to call in my order by 4:15 and that information was on the website. I looked at my watch which said 4:16 which I always keep a minute ahead. Then I looked back at the person in charge who reiterated I was too late for meal service. The fact was that I was standing at the desk before 4:15 as I checked in, but nothing was said to me to remind me I was close to the meal cut off. All I got to hear was that "we work 9 hour days and it was going to take her an hour to clean the grill". So, here we are 40 to 50 miles from anywhere one might get something to eat, and there would be no accommodation even though I walked in before 4:15. I admit I do not remember looking at the website, and it does say meal service till 4:15 during the week in very small print below the website title. It says nothing about calling in ahead of time. I was also carrying a 2-page confirmation for our room with no information about meal times.
We were the only customer Fields Station had for a $100 room with no TV or microwave and yet, there would be no food because we "did not call in ahead by 4;15" even though we were actually in the establishment a few minutes before 4:15.. The place is also inundated with flies. There were flies in our room when we checked in and we spent a good time of the evening killing flies. We did have breakfast in the morning. It was very good, but there is only "outdoor dining" which means you get to sit on a dirty patio and fight flies. We took our breakfast to our room.
My advice: even though this is the only place with a room accommodation for many miles do not stay here. The attitude is lousy, and I feel we were "taken" with an overpriced, unclean room receiving nothing to eat. Peter
