点评：Excited to stay in Petworth in preparation for the Goodwood weekend. Booked one year in advance. Arrived to find room was not as requested. Asked to wait in pub and it would be sorted. Duty manager said he would move us to a luxury room, and said when we were ready he would take us to the new room. Stood up to collect our bags and he then said he would take us the house that was part of the hotel. Phone rang and he wandered off leaving us just standing. No apology. The only saving grace was the lady in the pub, she was amazing. Arranged soft drinks for us as it was over 30c outside. Sat down again, still not resolved. One hour later we are told that our original room was going to be adjusted as per the booking agreement. More waiting for housekeeper to arrive. At no point did original manager apologise for confusion. After one hour 20 mins eventually taken back to original room. Room now as requested, but very small as configuration of beds had been changed. Breakfast poor and lacking any quality. No fresh juice, a few yoghurts, croissants and jam. Menu had English breakfasts, vegetarian option and sour dough with smashed avocado. ( not sure where the chef decided that smashed avocado was in fact chopped into pieces with coriander and lime) sent it back. No apology or offer of something else. Only 2 members of staff need recognition. The lady who helped us on arrival, who told us she had only been at the hotel/ pub for three months and the evening manager who recommended a local Indian restaurant. He also gave us a 10% discount for our room. Will never go back.
