Birdworld的点评
点评：I have visited Birdworld often in the past with friends or family and I used to take school parties each year when I was a teacher so I thought I knew what to expect. Sadly that was not the case, It is now more like a theme park than a bird zoo. Many of the main attractions have gone. These include Ostriches, Malibu Stork, Eagle Owls, Macaws on open air perches, Kookaburra and Secretary Birds, There used to be a large pond full of water fowl near the shop. There was a woodland walk where you might meet birds face to face or a Golden Pheasant may cross the path in front of you. All of these have gone along with the children's petting farm and Underwater World. I could go on. The large new play area looks good if you are a child and there is a big new building going up and that has the potential to be very good though I don't know what will be housed in it?
Two more points to make one positive and the other negative. The negative is the catering. We were going to have lunch but what was on offer was really unappealing. Basically it was just ultra processed junk food so we gave it a miss.
I would like to praise the staff who were pleasant polite and willing to answer my questions even if it was not what I wanted to hear.
I will end with a note of optimism. The new owners are clearly investing substantially in Birdworld so it has the potential to be good again. I just hope they will read and learn from the critical reviews left here. Meanwhile it is an expensive day out to visit an attraction that is clearly in flux
