Blue Mint Epsom的点评
点评：I visited with 5 friends one of whom lives locally and had recommended the Blue Mint, naturally I (and one or two of the others who have never visited this restaurant before) read reviews on Trip Advisor which were very negative somI wasn’t expecting much.
Frankly, those reviews must have been written by rival restaurants, drunk pub chuck-outs, pedants, those expecting a Veeraswamy experience or maybe some who were just plain unlucky.
Although not the most enticing in appearance, the restaurant is well maintained and clean inside and out. The staff were excruciatingly polite and attentive and super helpful. Be warned (and we knew this from our local mate and from the restaurant website) that they do not have an alcohol licence but supply glasses for customers to bring their own alcoholic beverages, though they will not allow you to bring your own soft drinks, as about teetotaller friend discovered, they will sell you those.
The food could not be faulted in any way , served promptly, piping hot from good quality ingredients and in generous portions, all done with a smile.
All in all, a good, no nonsense and unpretentious curry house, if you want an ‘upmarket restaurant’, go up West and pay quadruple. It’s amazing how much the cost is when you bring your own wine!
A note, if you are driving, parking in Waterloo Road at the location is restricted to the not too extensive bays to 20 minutes until 20:00 and the nearest multi-story car park (towards the High Street and immediately on the left, is hideously pricey but if one ventures past the restaurant in the opposite direction, take the first left into Temple Road which has Resident Parking Bays but extensive single yellow lines which are available for parking after 18:30, might be 18:00, we arrived at 18:45 and we were legal!
