点评：I had looked forward to trying Savoy for some time, but came away feeling very disappointed and a little hungry despite a three-course meal.
The positives are pleasing to note. Firstly, the staff were extremely friendly, very attentive, and eager to help- ignoring the late arrival of a supervisor wearing a beige suit who parked his oversized Land Rover in a disabled bay shortly before customers with poor mobility arrived for a meal as he strutted about the place. Secondly, the food that was evidently freshly prepared and well presented.
Sadly, the list of negatives is much longer. The menu is rather limited, which would be fine if the food was outstanding, but my Onion Bhaji was far too dry to eat without the help of yoghurt or some of the rather tasty sauces served with the poppadoms. Fortunately my main meal Old Delhi Butter Chicken was rather nice, but my wife's Nawabi Chicken was tasteless and left a rather unpleasant coating upon the tongue required spoonfuls of the same rather tasty sauces served with the poppadoms that I had used to save my Bhaji. The rest of the family fared better with a tasty Pistachio Chicken and an outstanding Peshwari Nan, but in common with all the dishes the portions were very small and the nicely cooked chicken was rationed to only five pieces. Sadly the disappointment was subsequently compounded by a meagre choice of less than impressive desserts that were all lacking in size and balanced taste in equal measure. To add to this, the range of coffees was limited to only two options, neither of which provided that superb end to an Indian meal offered by neighbouring restaurants of a rich coffee lying below a cream layer upon top.
Given the total on the bill, we expected much better. Suffice to say, we won't be going back unless something drastic changes as there are several other restaurants in and around Morpeth offering much better food and beverages for a lot less
