点评：We visited Tomahawk Steakhouse in Morpeth for breakfast as a family, excited to return after a lovely previous experience and to check out the newly reopened venue. They were running a BOGOF offer on breakfast, which seemed like a great opportunity to revisit. Unfortunately, this visit left us feeling disappointed and underwhelmed.
We were seated promptly and the service itself was fine, but it went downhill from there. We ordered lattes to start — both arrived lukewarm at best. I understand a latte is milkier by nature, but for £4.15, you’d expect it to be at least hot.
For food, we chose the steak and eggs and the full English. The steak and eggs dish was particularly underwhelming — it arrived with two tiny eggs and a small portion of steak. The waiter even mentioned that the chef apologised for the small eggs, as they usually order larger ones. That’s fair enough, but wouldn’t it make sense to offer more to compensate?
The full English wasn’t much better. The sausage meat was of questionable quality and unfortunately inedible for both myself and my partner. Toast came out cold, unbuttered, and without butter on the side. The bacon was streaky, which isn’t a problem in itself, but the menu simply said “smoked bacon” — some clarity there would have helped.
While we appreciate the BOGOF offer, the steak and eggs alone were nearly £15. Had we paid full price, we’d have felt even more let down. The restaurant was very quiet, so the standard of food can’t be blamed on being busy.
Overall, it’s a shame — we were genuinely looking forward to this visit, but sadly, it didn’t live up to expectations. Here’s hoping things improve, because the potential is there.
