点评：We popped in for lunch - the Fortunate Son is in a little ginnel off the high street but is worth that tiny detour.
We each had a really tasty decaf coffee (cappuccino if you want to know) and an absolutely delicious Caprese panini - freshly made with mozzarella, basil, pesto, with a little side salad and a good portion of crisps!
The staff (owner!) were really engaging and enthusiastic about the food (they had a special of mushroom soup and he described what was in it and how he’d made it! He nearly sold two of them but the panini won out - and we were both glad we did! The basil in the Caprese was more than ‘usual’ and enhanced the whole flavour experience!
There were about four customers when we arrived and about 12 when we left… everyone looked happy with what they’d had
We will definitely go back next time we visit Northallerton!
