Arrived Sunday morning about 11am. Sign at the front said wait to be seated.
Lots of seats available. Not that busy.
Waited and waited and waited.............. After about 5 minutes a lady asked if we had allergies and had been before..........Why ? They ask you that when you order.... My wife pointed to a corner (as we had dogs) and we sat down. Due to our niece wanting something without cheese I had to go to the bar to order. 3 people in front so around 8 minute wait. Ordered plus 2 coffees and a lemonade. Was told it would be up to 10 minutes to get the coffee as it was very busy.
I looked around and it was less than 50% capacity. It was busy at the barista because they have a machine that 3 people could utilise at the same time but only had one girl working it. She then put the orders on a tray and instruct the waitress where to take them. So they sit there until the waitress comes back.
Ordered 2 lounge muffins. After 12-15 mins the order came. Same time as the coffees.
Watched the kitchen. Order is placed out and bell rung. It sits there until the waitress comes and collects it. In our case it seems it sat a while. When it arrived the eggs and bacon were cold. Matched the luke warm coffee.
Prices are excessive for what you receive. The Hitchin chain fares slightly better but some serious time management needed here. Also they need 5 more staff at a minimum. Put 2 or 3 people on the barista. Get the coffees out fast. Get more waitresses so food doesn't go cold at the kitchen serving hatch.
Have someone assigned to getting people to tables so they don't stand looking at a half full room wondering why they have to wait 10 minutes.
Basic stuff that makes a huge difference.
