点评:Bexhill on Sea has sadly not had the money put into it that is required to keep a Victorian seaside town going these days. It has a nice Victorian seafront and standing out on it is the De La Warr Pavilion in all its 1930s splendour. It lifts the whole area. It works hard with art exhibitions, which we enjoyed and has a great cafe on floor one (or two - can't quite remember) which had good coffee and cakes and a balcony overlooking the sea, which we used as the weather was so good. the staff were friendly and helpful and it was quite clearly very popular. We were there on a Sunday Morning at about 10.30 and it was buzzing. It also had a great arty book shop and general shop with lots of interesting things to buy and good cards. It would be so good if the De la Warr could do for Bexhill what the Turner Contemporary has done for Margate. Here's hoping the town council rises to the challenge.
