点评:In the past two weeks I've been to Katana Buffet twice. The first time was a Tuesday when I arrived at 7:45pm (after my work day). The sign on the door said they were supposedly open until 9:30. You pay on the way in mind you. I get in and the salad bar was completely torn down. No lettuce, no beets, etc. The salad dressings were on a unrefrigerated cart next to the desserts which were very very picked over- and not replenished. About 8:30 there were three tables left including me. I COUNTED NINE workers standing around staring at the 3 tables. That's all they were doing- standing around staring at us. Finally, at 8:35 I asked for a box to take my food home so as not to keep the workers there any longer- they gave me a box and I left.
Tonight- Friday March 31 the sign on the door said open until 10:00PM. I got out of my car at 7:57PM to go in. So I was there just before 8:00PM. Guess what? The salad bar was already gone. Some items were on a cart- once again. Even the cottage cheese was on the cart with NO ICE under it- a violation of Ohio Law. The sushi bar was down to ONE (out of 8) trays of sushi. By 8:15 some of the dessert trays were empty and not refilled. At 8:21 a tall thin guy with a baseball hat sauntered over and took the tartar sauce away while there was still a pretty full tray of fried fish- folks, this is Lenten season- fried fish is a staple for a lot of people during this time. The poor kid in the table next to mine made do with one single piece of pizza since they didn't bring more out. The rest of the food was "grab it before it's gone". In the mean time over 18 more customers came in the door. One other diner commented, "I'd better eat fast before it's all gone." Another was disappointed that he had paid over $35 for he and his guest only to find a lot of the buffet was missing and/or empty.
The moral to the story is this: DO NOT GO after 7:00 PM if you want the full buffet! If Katana doesn't want you there the last hour and a half to TWO hours before they close then put it on the "Open Hours" sign on the front door. Will I go back?? I'll think about it but there are better choices for those of us who work a little later in the day. Try BibiBop instead. It's truly a "fast food" place.
