点评：The Welsh Field Inn is a good combination of an historic, charming setting with a capable staff.
The Welsh Field Inn is on Main Market Road (Route 422) in Burton. It's an easy drive out there along country roads. If you are coming from the Cleveland area you will likely pass over Ladue Reservoir along the way. For reference, it is about 15 miles/20 minutes from Chagrin Falls. This is certainly the nicest restaurant in the immediate area.
The building itself was originally built in 1840 as a hotel on a stagecoach route between Cleveland and Youngstown. It's been expanded since then. According to historical accounts, it was also a stop on the Underground Railroad. It was renovated and restored about 20 years ago in its current incarnation.
The building and decor are attractive, and there is a wide array of offerings on the menu. Check out the website as there are all kinds of specials, particularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They have brunch on Sunday. If you've ever dined at Cibreo in Cleveland's Playhouse Square, the restaurant is run by the same group, although the menus are different.
We were here for a birthday dinner and had the pork schnitzel and prime rib (a Wednesday special). Both were well prepared. Our service was friendly and attentive. Everyone around us seemed to be having a good time.
This is a good choice if you want to spend a little time in the country or if dinner in an historic inn appeals to you.
