点评：We dined at Socius earlier this week whilst holidaying in the area and it was an amazing experience.
The two of us shared four dishes which were served one at a time in order to savour the wonderful, carefully balanced flavours of each. I’d recommend also ordering some of their delicious bread to mop up every last drop of the sauces. My favourite was the watermelon with heritage tomatoes dish. Delicious flavours from top quality local produce.
The service was excellent. Attentive and helpful throughout. We’d only been able to book a late sitting but at my request they kindly phoned me to offer us an earlier table when it became available.
I’m just gutted that I was too full to order one of the delicious looking desserts so we’ll have to go back to remedy that. (We live 200 miles away but it’ll be worth it!)
Fascinating being able to see the kitchen staff in action too.
The venue itself is modern, popular, and therefore relatively noisy (I’ve seen similar places with noise-absorbing panels but they do instead have fab soft furniture which helps reduce it) however no-one should be put off by that as it’s all part of the ambience and definitely does not detract from the experience.
Just wish we lived closer!
