点评：We booked a meal for the first night of our holiday on a Sunday evening. We had been contacted 3 times earlier in the day to check we were still coming. When we arrived we decided to sit outside. However the table was sticky and filthy. It took at least 20 mins for anyone to clean the table despite us asking on arrival. The garden had rubbish and discarded menus strewn about and was in need of TLC. We were a party of 6. From ordering food to the food coming was at least a hour. The food was average. Chips were overdone, peas were lukewarm and the pork chop was small. The cheesecake however was lovely. Gluten free choices despite a number of options on the menu were limited to the pork chop and salmon fishcakes. Lots of the menu items even for non gluten free were out of stock. Waiting staff were lacking and we noticed a chef bringing out a dish for another table. Our meals were delivered without cutlery and we waited more than 5 minutes for cutlery. Members of our party got up and got our cutlery in the end and also carried out our coffees. Overall what should have been a lovely evening was far from it and we left bitterly disappointed. Not the vintage inn experience we expect. Recommend you have food at another place in Castleton as this pub is awful.
