点评：This place was recommended to me and I did have high hopes. The building is lovely to look at it, but it was very hot and stuffy inside even though the outside temperatures had significantly dropped. We were shown to a table that was close to other people, even though the rest of the place was relatively empty at the time, which did feel odd.
We were out for a treat and discussed whether to have a starter, as we didn’t want to spoil are appetites. We needn’t have worried as the portion sizes were tiny. I chose the king prawn cocktail, expecting something quite special for the £9.95 price tag. Without a doubt it was the smallest prawn cocktail I’ve seen and there’s a large question mark over whether they were king prawns as they were so small and didn’t have a lot of taste.
For the main I chose a chicken burger, which arrived on a brioche bun that hadn’t been mentioned on the menu. I dislike brioche as I find it too sweet for a savoury course, so I discarded that, only to find that the chicken was dry and largely tasteless. The other person who had ordered the same thing agreed with me and they left a lot, too. For a burger that cost £17+ it just wasn’t worth it. When the server came to clear the plates away, plates where everyone had left something as it wasn’t up to scratch, not a word was said and she walked away. We were intending to have desserts, but changed our minds.
It’s possible that we were unlucky, and it didn’t help that I ordered something that I’m not keen on due to lack of information on the menu, but none of us will be going back.
