La Maison Rose Cafe的点评
点评：After living in France for 8 years, I was so excited to find this cafe in Grimsby. I came with a friend on a Friday afternoon, we were the only customers in the establishment. As soon as we walked in, we were met with an unsmiling cashier, no welcome, then passed on to a male server who informed us that we couldn't enter the dining room unless we spent at least 15$. We said that was fine, he then showed us the menu to make sure we would choose something expensive enough and checked his phone in front of us before taking us into the empty dining room. I suppose this should have been a major red flag but my friend and I were so excited to eat some French food that we brushed it off.
As we sat down, we noticed loud, pumping club music coming from a speaker placed near us. We could barely hear each other speak and asked the server to please turn it down a little, to which he obliged. No more than 30 seconds had passed and the music was turned up again to full volume. The manager of the establishment came into the dining room, hands on hips, and informed us that the speaker and music had to stay in order to drown out the sound of the upstairs toilets flushing (?????). She said they "couldn't have customers eating and hearing toilets flush" as it turns them off their food. We sat open mouthed, as the ONLY CUSTOMERS IN THE CAFE, totally shocked at her rude tone and ludicrous reasoning. As she turned around to storm off, no apology or shred of customer service, we quickly packed up our things and left.
We were extremely disappointed and will not recommend anyone to come to this cafe. I thought living in France had prepared me for bad customer service but this was unheard of. Seriously, go somewhere else where they actually care about their customers!
