点评：Ernesto is a great server. Friendly, welcoming and spot-on. The menu is amazing, too! The place was crowded but we were seated right away. Orders were taken, drinks arrived quickly.
Then the food arrived and it needed improvement. We’ve eaten in Mexican restaurants all over. The preparation and ingredients vary, but the authentic seasonings do not, and bring out the flavors.
Guys…as noted in other reviews, your kitchen needs work; unless local tastes demand a bland product. The bean dip stuff was just texture, no bean flavor nor anything else. We had chimichangas and the portions were amazing, but seasoning was lacking.
The Spanish rice, was just “rice”. The refried beans were just “glop”. The chimichanga’s were interesting. The preparation was loaded with grilled vegetables and meats. The grilled chicken was grilled well, but tasteless. The ground meat was well-cooked, but also tasteless. The salt and pepper on the table did nothing to help, nor tell us it was Mexican food.
The chili rellenos and tamale sides were good, though. The chocolate chimichangas were OK but skimpy, ice cream would’ve helped.
The chef needs to take a field trip to some other Mexican restaurants and check out the seasonings. I’ll qualify this with a dash of reasonable doubt, though…
If local palettes like a bland fare…then “stay the course”. We will “steer our course” elsewhere.
