点评：A very different experience! We went on a Saturday around 5:30, so it was peak ‘rush hour’. 1 hour wait that was accurate almost to the minute. NOISY ! You couldn’t escape the noise. Conversation impossible.The bar and the tables were full. Literally not an open space to stand if you didn’t have a seat. Waitresses (well, one waitress) was literally yelling for people to get out of the way. The place is a very old and quaint pub/tavern with low, original wood ceilings. It’s just too small inside for the #of tables they have. Anyone sitting near the bar or in the back has someone’s rear-end sticking in their face for their entire meal. Truth !
The hostess/seating arrangement was peculiar. The place was jam packed but there were 3-5 open tables that just sat there empty. And we were told by an employee that they don’t take reservations, but it depends on who you are ‘wink, wink’. Then, the hostess would sit a couple at a 4person table when they had 2 2 person tables (deuce) open. Just odd.
Prices were STEEP (it’s Williamsville…) Better part of a $20 bill for a sandwich. $6.50 for a draft !!! Our meals came surprisingly quickly for being as busy as it was. I had the hot roast beef with mashed potatoes. It had been sitting and was warm but not hot. Very thinly sliced, tasty roast beef. Only a small (and I mean small) dollop of mashed potatoes. We also got a William Mattar which was very good. The last meal was a burger and fries. The burger was good but not many fries. Our server was friendly but not efficient. She got the job done but slowly. In fairness, she was busy.
I might go back if I had a bar seat but the noise, tiny interior and prices push me away. There are a MILLION places to eat nearby for less money in a much more casual setting. This was like Combat Dining.
