Beautiful setting, but a few things really let it down

点评：We stayed at Eco Amazonia for several nights and there were many aspects we truly enjoyed. The location is absolutely stunning — deep in the jungle, surrounded by nature and wildlife, it really feels like an escape. The food was consistently good, and the lodge itself is beautiful. The excursions were generally well-organised and a great way to explore the area.
That said, there were a few things that made the experience disappointing. Most notably, the pool — which was one of the reasons we chose the lodge — was not operational for the entire duration of our stay. Each day we were told it would be ready “tomorrow” or “in a few hours,” but this turned out not to be true. On one occasion we were told it would be ready soon, despite there being no water in it at all. It felt like we were being strung along rather than given an honest update.
When I brought this up, the manager laughed it off, which felt really dismissive and unprofessional.
Also, while the excursions were enjoyable, some of them did feel quite repetitive. That may be the nature of being in the jungle — there’s only so much variety in the landscape and activities — but a bit more diversity in the schedule would have made a difference.
Overall, we still had a good time thanks to the setting, the food, and the unique experience of being in the Amazon. But the handling of the pool situation and some aspects of the tours did take away from what could have been a truly excellent stay.
