Ruaha camp that is going for the extra mile as part of their DNA

点评：Jabali Ridge was the 2nd part of our stay in Ruaha after visiting the Kichaka Zumbua Camp in the east of the park. The camp is very comfortable and offers a high level of overall standard and service......
The rooms are very nice and our villa #5 is undoubtedly the villa with the best view - awesome!
The food is the best what we have had in several camps during our Tanzania trip! Really good! The setting for the dinner is on different spots every night so it won't get boring..... we have liked most to sit close to the camp fire (bush TV) at night.
The guiding was fabulous and our guide Timon did anything he could to show us the best of the wildlife in this area. Once we have returned to our camp for lunch and have alread got off the car as he received a message from another car that a leopard was seen about 20min ago. He asked us if we would like to try our luck and then we have instantly rushed to this location...... this was really nice of him..... he and the whole team at Jabali really went for the extra mile several times...... finally the leopard had already disappeared but on the other hand we have found wild dogs which are even more rare to see!
Jabali Ridge is part of Asilia Camps. Any Asilia camp in Tanzania offers a similar kind of service.... they even provide a hot water bottle for the morning game drives which was really nice and appreciated.
Another thing where we have really felt that they are going for the extra mile was a fabulous bush breakfast being set up in the middle of nowhere with a great view of the area and with efforts that you wouldn't believe if I would not show you on the pictures..... they really came here with a chef to cook eggs, sausage and whatever you like, set up a table with everything you might wish and even with a bush toilet set up only for us! Probably this was one of the most exciting experiences of the whole safari! Thank you much for this experience!
Comparing this area in the main part of the park to the area experienced before in the east I must say that it´s really different! The wildlife here is much more used to vehiceles than it was in the east. We could easily stop next to Thomson gazelles, dikdiks, lions........mostly they did not run away...... in the east part it was much more difficult to spot the game but it was also more wild and rough (off the beaten path) than here in the main area...... it´s still far from being overcrowded but o. c. it´s more busy than it is in the east where Kichaka's car is the only one around..... so for game viewing this situation is better but somehow it almost felt like in a zoe while in the east part you have always been aware that you are in the nature and the game is irritated by a car driving around.....
There is one area here where Tse Tse flies are commonly found. So better be prepared and wear long pants and shirts, socks and appropriate footwear. Nothing to worry about and only one spot out of several game drives but just for you to know......
Overall this area of the park I recommend more to go in the dry season as the vegetation is very dense at most places here...... well it´s normal in the green season somehow but during our trip which included four camps in different locations I would say that at this place we have most felt it would have been better to be here in the dry season with more open views..... anyway you will also spend a great time here in the green season!
I really do recommend to visit Jabali Ridge and would also come back any time if repeating a Ruaha visit in the future.....
Good product, good value for money..... don't miss to check out for Asilia special deals when combining several Asilia camps...... that might get you free transfers (!!) as well.....
