Both times the food was excellent and the atmosphere fun, but the service is unprofessional and not commensurate with the level of a restaurant of this caliber. We feel it may be hard to find local staff that know how to make customers feel well served, but they could be trained. For example serving a dish meant for two without individual plates should be a no-brainer. When you have to ask for plates and then wait 10 minutes while the food chills it takes away from the experience. Or asking to pack the food you could not finish and being brought a stack of boxes without a bag to carry them in should also be a no-brainer. Then asking for a bag, waiting and then being handed a folded bag to pack yourself would also be a simple touch that would make you feel that you are cared for. One time, after specifically reserving a table on the balcony three days in advance, upon arrival we were about to be seated downstairs. We reminded the hostess that we had specifically requested four on the balcony after which we were left standing in the isle for 10 minutes blocking passage of customers and staff. These are simple things, not big deals, but when you are paying upscale prices and treated like you are in a clam shack it’s noticeable. Despite the service, we will be back.
