Arrogant attitude toward prospective customers dispels any desire to patronize this restaurant

点评:This review is about service, not food. I had previously eaten at this highly overpriced (even for the Hamptons) restaurant and thought the food was just OK. Nonetheless, a local community group wanted to hold a special luncheon there and I dropped in with a colleague to speak to the manager about setting it up. We waited about 10 minutes, then someone noted he'd be out momentarily. And he was, to sit down at the counter (within sight of us) to eat his breakfast. We were then asked if we could return in 10 or 15 minutes because he was in the middle of something important! Obviously we were invisible -- to him at least. So no luncheon, and no loss from my perspective, but I wanted to highlight the arrogance and rudeness of someone whose job is to create a welcoming environment for customers. It's the kind of thing you read about out here, but in my experience, it's not the norm, and I won't be visiting this establishment again.
