We were seated promptly for our reservation. Then ...
... nothing happened.
We waited over twenty minutes for a server to arrive. Servers passed by, some looking somewhat confused. No eye contact. And we were seated in the middle of the room–probably because we were dressed all fancy and such.
So, we left. My wife mentioned to the hostess that we were leaving, which was met with a half-hearted 'what can we do?.' At that point, our response was 'nothing.'
We aren't new to the hospitality industry. The easy, proper response would've been a sincere apology followed by a 'let's make this right' attitude and taking action. The response given was not one should expect from a high end, high service establishment.
Besides that upsetting experience, the menu has been pared from the original offerings. We'e read other reviews and spoke to others that have had a similar disappointing experience. Unlike some of those diners, we chose not to have the disappointment continue. My wife in particular felt sad about the affair; her bubble has been burst. For me, I was more angry that such a fine venue had devolved into a place that we'll never visit again.
