点评:One of our better meals in two nights in upstate New York was at Olive’s Greek Tavern. We called ahead and grabbed a seat outside in their patio (actually a closed off section of hardtop) for lunch. Seating was pleasant and sheltered from the sun. Food was perfectly acceptable – not earth-shatteringly good (the cooks appeared to be high school age). Still, it was hard to complain about our Chicken and Spicy Feta gyros on pita bread.
Similarly, my Avgolemono chicken and rice soup was downright yummy, even though a serious chef might have declared it excessively thick and lemony. Service could have been a lot quicker, but there were only two gals for the entire outside (practically nobody sat inside), so patience was a given.
For dessert, the chocolate baklava ice cream with whipped cream and honey tasted about as good as it sounds. To describe it would be to repeat the ingredients and paint a picture of them combined in a frosty presentation.
Only checks and cash were permitted. Good thing we had hit the ATM beforehand … and pricing was quite reasonable compared to the Simply Crepes restaurant where we decided not to eat.
