点评:Home cooked Mexican/Central American food that tastes like your Abuela would have made for you.
This is the most homey Mexican food I’ve found North of Del Rio. Following the other great reviews here we found our way to this unassuming Bodega/restaurant while escaping the I-84 traffic jam on old Route 22.
The whole family was delighted with the food. We had tamales like I used to get from street venders in Cuidad Acuña back in the 80’s.
The tacos were tasty bites that the kids demolished with great gusto.
Cheese empanadas for a bit more snack with cheese and cabbage garnish. The sauce for the tamales was very tasty, mild and fine for the kids soft tongues.
We finished with a wonderful horchata, made in their own kitchen. It was so much better than the commercially sold horchata that there is really no comparison.
For desert we snagged a chocolate covered frozen banana from the bodega and our delightful south of the border meal was complete.
We will gladly stop again and will recommend this hidden gem to all our traveling friends!
